**UPDATE** the final cost of the bus came in at $1,450.14-with our offline donations, we're so close! If you can help out, it's much appreciated, plus, you get a shout-out at our reunion!
Hello! My name is Diana Westphal and I have the honor of representing a group of Vietnam Vets that served at Cam Ranh Bay Air Base during the years of 1965-1972. Cam Ranh is situated on the eastern coast of Vietnam and the air base, though mostly occupied by the Air Force while there, was a jumping off point for those that were heading in-country by other armed services. We are coming together for our 6th reunion to be held in Louisville, KY this fall. Last year we were in St. Louis and had the wonderful opportunity to visit Perryville, MO, home to one of the most awesome Vietnam Veteran memorials. It was one and a half hours from St. Louis but we had a fantastic benefactor that donated the amount of the bus we had to take to get there. This time around, we have the opportunity to visit the Kentucky Vietnam memorial in Frankfort but we again need a bus. Our group is small and does not have the funds to afford the bus. I cannot tell you what an awesome group this is and how they deserve to be taken care of in this manner. Having a bus to transport everyone means no one has to worry about driving themselves. Yes, many have probably driven themselves to the reunion, but I would love for them to get this type of amenity. Besides, sometimes it's like herding cats with them and it would make my life so much easier if we were all in one place ;-) Thank you for any help you can give-they appreciate it and I certainly do.
