This fundraiser is currently closed because we exceeded our goal! We'll be back if we need more funds to support our friends in detention!

VIDA: Volunteers for Immigrants in Detention-Albuq is a group of volunteers who visit Cibola County Correctional Center and Torrance County Detention Facility every month. We also advocate for the shutting down of these centers and document the human rights abuses our friends in detention consistently experience.

The $450 that we raised in April allowed us to support individuals at each of the detention centers in completing an emotional support program that included phone calls. We are so grateful to everyone that has donated.

Now here in July 2025, we are raising money for two specific reasons. First of all, we need to pay for our VIDA PO Box, the price of which has increased to $210/year. This PO Box is a crucial way for us to facilitate communication between VIDA volunteers and our friends in detention. The second reason for the fundraiser is so that we can pay for phone minutes so that our friends in detention can call their families.
