My family and I are in the process of purchasing a home after being evicted. Some things happen that really are beyond our control and even in the challenge, it's been amazing to see the amount of care and support we've received from family and friends.

We are currently saving for our down payment (somewhere between $9,000.00 - $12,000.00) and other closing costs that come along with that (somewhere between $4,500.00 - $5,500.00). We have made progress and God has been good to provide supplemental support in various ways (from food donations to temporary housing) that has allowed us to save faster than we even anticipated.

This is still a big lift from our end and we've been encouraged and feel brave enough to ask for support. If you are able and willing to contribute to our funding to reach our goal, it would truly mean a lot to us and bring us closer to this next phase being a reality. It would also allow us to be closer to our next chapter of housing, relieving the weight it puts on our current community members supporting us.

Finally, we have decided that 10% of what we receive will go to one or two organizations in the city of Atlanta that support those that may be experiencing homelessness. As we have gone through this and experienced the mercy and grace of God, we understand others may not have the same circumstances and opportunities. We want to share the compassion that has been shared with us. So whether we reach our goal or not by the timeline, we are going to distribute that 10% to support others/organizations during this time as well.
