It is time to rally around our neighbors, and provide some support to them as they have done for so many! At the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, our wonderful friend, Leah Wood, started a grassroots community support group that has grown into one of the largest support networks on the Central Coast. This organization has reached into countless homes and assisted our neighbors and friends in ways that may never be fully known.  One of its first members and moderators was Leah's mother, Pat Germelman.  Pat is a lovely, supportive neighbor, mother, and grandmother who has made a real impact in our community. 

Unfortunately, Pat was recently scammed by a fake listing on appartments.com and lost a substantial sum of money. The scammer used Pat's medical vulnerabilities and the current pandemic to insist that all business be conducted remotely, to ensure her safety. It was a very elaborate scheme, that unfortunately resulted in Pat losing out on her savings. After exhausting resolution possibilities with local law enforcement, apartments.com, and her bank she is now in a precarious housing situation and with limited funds to pursue other options.

This situation speaks clearly to the vulnerability of so many during these difficult times, and the precarious housing situation on the Central Coast. However, it is also a wonderful opportunity to help out a neighbor in need as Pat and Leah have been doing in such a dedicated and selfless way.  All funds will be donated to Pat in her quest to secure housing.
