Viankita's dear mother Avi has been diagnosed with COVID-19. They live together, so both are required to quarantine for 14 days or longer until they both are able to test negative and be cleared to return to work. Viankita, my niece, is a student at TCC and will be graduating with her Associates this year. We are so proud of her! She loves her mother dearly and has been devastated by this news. Avi has been working for SanMar, a distribution center in Irving, TX, for the past 4 years. There have been multiple reported COVID-19 cases at this facility and they have been taking no steps to sanitize properly.  Avi became an American citizen last October. She is originally from Honduras. The pic I posted is the day she became a US citizen.  They have already been impacted financially from this pandemic as Avi, being the main bread winner of the household while Viankita goes to school, had her hours cut for many weeks as her company was considered non-essential. She was not approved for unemployment during this time, unfortunately. This is a family that lives from paycheck to paycheck; therefore, having to go without work and without pay for 2 weeks or longer can cause a severe setback in addition to the setback they've already experienced. At the end of the 14 day quarantine, they will be required to test again. Each test costs $150! Yes, I said $150! As they have already had to be out of pocket $300 to test recently, having to pay another $300 for a second round of tests AND pay their monthly rent, utility, and grocery expenses may be close to impossible with no inflow of income!  Please help my family!  I pray for the Lord to bless and keep each person that is kind enough to submit a donation!
