I never thought it could happen to me! In a matter of a few short days, I will join the ranks of unemployed and homeless veterans. For the past 2.5 years, I have become depressed over not being able to land a meaningful, full-time job. All I have been able to get is occasional gig work and some part-time retail employment. As an Army and Coast Guard veteran, the VA system has helped with the counseling part, but they are very, very slow to respond to other needs. My family and estranged wife have helped where they can, but they are tapped out. To make matters worse, my bank account is now overdrawn, adding even more stress to an already difficult situation.

I am reaching out to you to ask for help to keep a roof over my head and get me through the next month. Donations will go directly toward rent, utilities, and covering the overdraft charges so I can get back on my feet. I truly did not want to resort to this type of begging.
