My name is Nicole, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my family during an incredibly difficult time. Last July, my sister Veronica suffered a stress-induced heart attack, and then again in January of this year. These health challenges have taken a serious toll on her, both physically and emotionally. In March, she was laid off from her remote job, which has made it even harder for her family to keep up with living expenses and the out-of-pocket costs that come with ongoing medical care, even though she still has health insurance.
Veronica and her husband have six children, five of whom they adopted. Adopting and raising their kids has been a journey full of unexpected challenges, but they remain deeply committed to their family. Veronica has always been the person who shows up for others, willing to help anyone in need, even when she has little to give. Her husband works countless hours to keep them afloat, but despite their best efforts, they’re struggling to keep up with the bills and daily expenses. Veronica has also tried to support her family through her small business, creating beautiful crafts, but despite her talent, it hasn’t been successful enough to make a difference. The emotional and mental strain of Veronica’s health issues, combined with the challenges of parenting, has left them feeling overwhelmed.
In addition to all of this, Veronica has been attending Northern Arizona University to finish her Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work. Her dedication to her education and her future career is a testament to her resilience and determination.
Throughout her life, Veronica has always been a fighter. She has faced countless battles and has always managed to pick herself back up, no matter how difficult things became. Right now, though, she is struggling in a way she never has before. I know in my heart that this won’t keep her down—she has the strength and resilience to overcome this. What she and her husband need most right now is a kickstart, a bit of support to help them get back on their feet.
I know there are many people out there who are struggling, and some may be facing even greater challenges than Veronica. But I truly believe there is no one more deserving of support than my sister. If you are unable to help financially, your prayers would mean the world to us. Veronica is strong in her faith, and knowing that others are thinking of her and her family would be a great comfort.
Veronica didn’t want me to do this, but I feel it’s the best way I can help her right now—by reaching out to others who might be willing to lend a hand. Asking for help is not easy for her—she feels ashamed and embarrassed to be in this position. But right now, they need support to get through this difficult period. Any contribution will go directly toward their living expenses and medical bills, helping them regain stability and focus on healing. Thank you for taking the time to read their story and for considering a donation to help my sister’s family.
