Help Veronica and her siblings honor their Mother's legacy

Hi everyone, thank you from my heart for taking your time to read our story. My name is Veronica Guerrero and I go by Vero, and I have an identical twin sister Claudia, who has a little boy Bradley. We have a beautiful younger sister Jenifer, who is 17 and a 10 year old little brother, Esau, who is so sweet and intelligent. We live in Long Island, New York together, and we are going through an incredibly difficult time. Unfortunately our amazing mother & grandmother, Sandra Reyes Enamorado, was diagnosed with Stage 4 Cholangiocarcinoma, which is cancer of the bile duct, in January of 2024. My mother is about to be 44 - we've set the date for our GoFundMe goal as her upcoming December birthday as a symbolic birthday gift to her. Our mom is a sweet soul with a warrior spirit - she cares for all of us, and since this diagnosis she has done everything she can to care for us, all while trying to heal herself via every method. We've had amazing care at our local hospital, but sadly things are getting harder as the days go by. Even though I'm just 25, I've had to step up to basically be the mother to my younger siblings and care for my mom. Mom is now at home under consistent hospice care as the doctors feel the best course at this point is to make her as comfortable as possible.

Out of nowhere, we've been faced with a new idea for our future. Given that our mom has been battling for quite some time her doctors are telling us to prepare for the worse case scenario. Our current adversities make it very hard for us to have any income. Since my mother's illness has occurred it has been impossible for her to work. Although I have tried to work as much as I can it has been very difficult being her care taker as well as for my siblings. The various travels between home and to the hospital have made it very difficult to keep a consistent work schedule. I currently work during the weekend when Jen-jen can babysit Esau, while also keeping an eye on mom. Claudia helps when she can as well. For me this is very difficult as I would much rather my siblings enjoy a sense of normalcy.

My biggest struggle at the time is keeping them focused on positive goals so I can guide them down the right path for their futures. My Mother always kept that in mind and worked so she could prepare them for adulthood. Since we're now in the state of hospice she is worried about leaving us unsupported.

I am currently in the process of receiving full custody of both my siblings, at my mom's request. It has been very difficult as I now make all the decisions for my mother and siblings. During this time my mom has asked me to be her spokesperson as well as the carrier of information from doctors. Sadly she's asked me to keep some of the details of her sickness to myself. Knowing all the information has made this all very challenging as I've just transitioned into adulthood.

As we are preparing for the worst we are hoping for the best.

Thank you for reading about us and considering the opportunity to help provide a bit of security. Any donation would be deeply appreciated and gracious. If you are unable to donate, any form of help or guidance would also be appreciated. My only goal is to give my siblings what my mother wishes she could continue to do. Thank you for your help and love.
