Camp Survivors in Kazakhstan
Donation protected
Hi, My name is Dilnaz on behalf of sisters4uyghurs we are raising money again to provide aid to Uyghurs who have fled from the persecution in Xinjiang, East Turkestan in China.
Since 2017, the Chinese government has imprisoned more than 3 million Uyghurs and subjected those not detained to intense surveillance, religious restrictions, forced labor, and forced sterilisations. As well as others facing brutal torture, violence, organ harvesting and being forced to consume alcohol and pork (which is not allowed for Muslims.) The US determined that China’s actions ‘constitute genocide’, while a UN report said they could amount to ‘crimes against humanity.’ About 11 million Uyghurs (a mostly Muslim, Turkic-speaking ethnic group) live in the northwestern region of Xinjiang.
In March 2023, we raised $2,000 to help 36 uyghur refugee families who have managed to escape Xinjiang and flee to Kazakhstan.
The camp survivors are living in poverty and urgently need financial aid, having left their homes, families and jobs behind. The torture the Uyghurs endured in the CCP (Chinese communist party) concentration camps have left them with long term health issues and inability to work which has put them in a helpless state of poverty. We were informed that there were around 1,000 camp survivors currently living in Kazakhstan but we only know a number of these people . We need your help to reach these people.
With the money raised we purchased food parcels including flour, rice, oil, sugar, pasta and tea and distributed them to the families.
The families were extremely grateful and in tears and said ‘we had thought everyone forgot about us.’
The food parcels were enough to last them only 2 months which is why we are raising money so we can help them again (God willing.) Whatever you donate, however small or big is appreciated by us and the families we are supporting. Please donate generously and share with friends and family as the impact these food parcels have for these families is huge and will go a long way! Thank you for your support.
