Edinburgh Community Sponsorship Homes was created from a simple belief: everyone deserves a safe, affordable place to call home — and everyone deserves to feel they belong.

Edinburgh is in a housing emergency. There were 26,817 applications on the city’s common housing register, and around 6,270 homeless households are currently living in temporary accommodation.

We wanted to do our part.

And we wanted to build on something we know works: community-based welcome. Our sibling charity, Edinburgh Refugee Sponsorship Circle, has shown the incredible difference that can happen when refugees are welcomed not just into accommodation, but into a community — with neighbours, friendships, stability and a genuine sense of belonging.

Now, we have the chance to take that work one huge step further.

We are raising the final £10,000 needed to purchase our first flat.

A flat that will become a safe, affordable and secure home where refugees can put down roots, rebuild their lives, recover from trauma and begin to feel at home in Edinburgh.
