We’re on a mission to upgrade and modernise The Whitchurch Folk House — and we need your help to make it happen.

These improvements will make the Folk House more welcoming, inclusive, and functional for everyone — from young families to older residents, and everyone in between.

But this is about more than just bricks and mortar.

The Whitchurch Folk House is a thriving community hub. We host drawing classes, wellbeing activities, film nights and more. We've organised cultural visits to Bristol Zoo, We The Curious, and the local fire station, helping connect local people — especially those who may otherwise feel isolated — with new experiences.

We’re now expanding into digital skills workshops, community gaming groups, and more — with dedicated SEN-friendly sessions to ensure everyone can participate in a way that suits their needs. To do that, we urgently need improved facilities to make the space more comfortable, accessible, and fit for purpose.

Thanks to generous grants from the Whitchurch and Hengrove Community Group (£500) and the Quartet Community Foundation (£5,000), we’ve already made a strong start. We’re also investing from our own reserves — but to deliver our full vision, we need the support of the wonderful community we serve.

Every donation — big or small — will help us take another step toward a better, brighter, more accessible future for Whitchurch Folk House.

And if we’re lucky enough to exceed our target, any surplus funds will go directly toward essential roof repairs — securing the building for future generations.
