Help Us Transform SE 34th & Powell
Donation protected
Another city sweep is coming to SE 34th & Powell—June 2–9. If you live here, you already know what that means:
Unleashed dogs. Open drug use. Fires in the street. Blocked sidewalks. Bugles and guitars at 3 a.m.
The city clears it out—but within days, the RVs, tents, weapons, and chaos are back. There’s no follow-through. No real plan. No peace.
We’re done waiting.
Neighbors and small businesses on our block are taking action. We’ve launched a petition calling on the City, the Creston-Kenilworth Neighborhood Association, and local partners like SymbiOp to support visible deterrents that already work in other parts of the city:
Planters. Barricades. Reflectors. Native plants.
Over 250 people have signed our petition. We’ve got pledges coming in and local suppliers standing by. But we still need to raise $2,500+ to make this happen before the sweep.
We’re planning:
• 12-14 large concrete planters
• Native plants & soil
• Reflectors
• Visible signals that this block is cared for—and we’re not going backward
How you can help:
• $25 or $50: covers native plants, soil, reflectors, and delivery
• $220: sponsors a full planter—you choose the vibe!
• Even $5 gets us closer
Other ways to support:
• Have a truck or trailer? Help us haul materials
• Got some plants or foliage to donate? Shoot us a message
• Want to volunteer? Join us for planting, watering, or community outreach
Meetups:
• Sundays (afternoons)
• By the food carts near John’s Marketplace on Powell
Email us: [email redacted] — just say you’re in, and we’ll follow up.
Let’s make this sweep the last one.
No more resets. No more chaos. Just a cared-for community.
