As a football club we have been devastated not once, but twice as two players took their own lives.
Harvey
Harvey McWilliams was 18 years of age when he passed in tragic circumstances in December 2021.
Harvey played for us when he was studying at the University of Exeter. He was an exceptional player, having played for several clubs in his hometown, including Darlington FC’s Academy.
We honour Harvey in many ways.
When Harvey passed, we changed our club colours to those of his favourite team, Sunderland AFC. We carry broken hearts and the number 18 on our club badge, and we promote men’s mental health, and raise awareness through For Harvey.
The world lost an incredible young man, and we will be forever grateful to Harvey’s family and our local community for the support they gave to pull us through dark days. Our hearts were broken, and we were devastated when we lost Harvey.
His legacy will live on.
Harvey is always with us: 18
Dan
Dan’s passing spurred us on to complete this app, to support those that are struggling.
As a football family, we were heartbroken by the tragic passing of Dan “Quinny” Quinn.
At just 22 years of age, Dan’s life was cut short in October 2025.
We remain deeply saddened to have lost a club legend at such a young age.
Dan was the life and soul of every party, he was the one person that lit up every room with his presence, his smile and humour, and he was taken far too soon.
Dan was a head chef and a big Exeter City and Liverpool fan and played in goal for us at Exeter Royals FC.
The world lost an incredible son, grandson, brother and friend at such a young age.
Dan will be honoured by the club in many ways over the coming weeks, months and years.
Dan will be with us always: Forever 22.
We have already raised money to support players when they are in need. Football clubs, rugby clubs and kind hearted people across the UK and beyond, showed us compassion and love and donated merchandise to enable us to offer support.
We would now like to widen this and have developed an app that will enable not only our own Squad to access immediate and long term support, but others far and wide.
This is unique for grassroots football and was included in an England Football video when recognising the passion we have within our club to support others.
To achieve this will cost money hence this campaign.
Whatever you are able to donate will be greatly appreciated.
