Help to Upgrade New Gas Works at Valentia Hospital
Organising-committee member Tony Goggin presents the trophy to men's senior winner Tim O'Brien at the 2024 Pool Tournament in Cable O'Leary's.
Last year a total of €6,286 was raised during the second annual Legends Pool Tournament in Ballinskelligs. It was a wonderdul, exciting weekend as not one but three competitions took Cable O’Leary’s Bar by storm over St. Patrick's Weekend.
It was frame after frame from Thursday through to St Patrick’s Day across the three-table set-up, but it was all happening in aid of a great cause, to help towards the purchase of a generator for Valentia Hospital.
Last year over 75 players took part in the men’s and women’s tournaments alone, but a junior competition also cued up, with Darragh O’Driscoll beating Michael John Moran in the final. Tim O’Brien got the better of Eoin Mulvey in the senior men’s decider. Emer Moran won the ladies title, beating Susan Walsh in the final.
Between the tournament, prizes, a drag hunt, and other donations, funds raised in 2024 came to €6,286. We were overwhelmed to reach our target last year, and hope we can go some way towards reaching our target again this year.
Please help us to support this invaluable local community service.
Now in our third year running, this fundraising event will take place from Thursday 14th to Saturday 16th March in Cable O'Leary's in Ballinskelligs.
This year we hope to raise funds to help Valentia Hospital to upgrade new gas works.
Please share and support this event.
