Hi, my name is Olga Bilyetska and I'm from Kyiv, Ukraine. I came to Europe with my family when Russia started the war in Ukraine. Like all refugees, much of my time is focused on surviving and providing for my family. But I also thought about how to break through Russian propaganda and help Russians understand what is truly happening in this war.
This fundraiser supports Svodka a volunteer-run Russian-language news podcast dedicated to providing truthful updates about the war in Ukraine.
Our small, dedicated team consists of Ukrainian and expatriate Russian journalists and volunteers.
Russian misinformation about the war is widespread, preventing Russians from seeing the reality of the war and understanding the suffering it causes. As a team deeply affected by the war, we believe in the power of honest communication. If we can change the mindset of even one person who has been misled, it would mean the world to us. "Svodka" is a 10-minute daily audio program aimed at combating propaganda and fake news. Designed with safety in mind, it's secure for Russians to use and distribute.
Our team is made up of close friends who are refugees from Russia and Ukraine. We are united by our mission to make a difference through honest journalism.
We need to raise funds to keep our podcast running for a year. Every euro will go directly to covering our team's basic needs and the costs of producing and distributing the podcast. Here’s how the funds will be used:
- Production costs (Living expenses for our team of journalists, recording equipment, editing software, etc);
- Promotion and distribution;
- Operational costs (website maintenance, hosting fees, etc.);
Your support can help us provide truthful, reliable news to a Russian-speaking audience. Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a big difference.
Thank you for your support!
