My name is Rebecca, and I need your help.
I’m a 26 year old mom of two, expecting my third child with my fiancé. After years of being misdiagnosed and overmedicated by psychiatrists, my family finally clawed our way back to stability completing a payment plan to avoid eviction and felt hopeful for the first time in a long time.
That hope was short lived. Less than a month after finishing that payment plan I found out I was pregnant. Shortly after that I was hit with hyperemesis gravidarum, which is a severe pregnancy condition far beyond typical morning sickness. I was hospitalized for a full week and the muscle depletion it caused has made it impossible for me to return to my job as a CNA. It also forced me to stop physical therapy entirely.
To make things harder, I also live with SLE (lupus) and fibromyalgia both of which are now completely unmanaged because of the hyperemesis gravidarum. What was already a difficult health situation has become overwhelming. I now need IV fluids multiple times a week just to function. I’ve lost 15 pounds and haven’t been able to gain any of it back.
My fiancé is set to start a new job within the next week or two, so we can see the light at the end of the tunnel but we’re not there yet. Our phones and internet have been shut off and our landlord is unwilling to work with us this time, moving to the eviction process immediately, instead of giving us a chance to catch up.
We are so close to stable ground. We just need a little help bridging the gap.
