Help us through my dad's recovery: Every contribution counts

My Why:

Hi, my name is Josh Holland. I’m reaching out to you with a deeply personal request. My dad, who has been my biggest supporter throughout my life, recently suffered two strokes, underwent open-heart surgery, and is now dealing with vision impairment. I’m doing everything I can to take care of him during his recovery, but I need your help to make this possible.

My dad has been there for me every step of the way, from my early years as a musician to where I am today. He’s been my rock, my inspiration, and my biggest fan. Now, it’s my turn to be there for him. After he went into the hospital on April 20th, everything he went through was unexpected and happened over the course of only a few days. Since then, I’ve had to drastically reduce my work hours to care for him, which has put a significant strain on my ability to work, and in turn, my finances.

In addition to my work as a musician and producer, I’ve spent the last two years creating content focused on personal development and showcasing the creative process in the studio. This content is something I’m passionate about because I believe it helps others—whether it’s offering a better perspective on life or highlighting the incredible work of the artists I collaborate with. While I want to continue contributing positively through this content, my primary focus now needs to be on caring for my dad during his recovery. Balancing caregiving with everything else has been challenging, and that’s why I’m seeking your support.

Unfortunately, as a self-employed musician and producer, I don’t have access to benefits like FMLA, which means I can’t afford to take much time off work without risking financial hardship. We are now more than 4 months in, which has depleted much of my savings. I want to be there for my dad without the constant worry of how to pay the bills. That’s why I’m asking for your support.

Goal:
I’m aiming to raise $32,000 to cover my living expenses for the next eight months while I focus on taking care of my dad during his recovery. This amount will help cover essential costs like mortgage, insurance, and other bills, as well as the additional expenses of traveling across town to take him to his appointments and therapy sessions. With his vision impairment, my dad is currently unable to drive, so I’m also dedicating time to take him on outings he loves, like visiting Mount St. Helens, waterfalls in the Pacific Northwest, and the beach. These trips not only help him get out of the house but also provide him with the joy and comfort he needs during his recovery.

Impact:
This campaign is about more than just covering bills—it’s about allowing me to be there for my dad in the way he has always been there for me. Your support will enable me to focus on his recovery, ensuring he gets the care and attention he needs during this critical time. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us closer to making this possible. Thank you for your time reading this. Any help is appreciated.
