We are members of the UK International Search and Rescue (UK ISAR) team, a specialist search and rescue team that supports emergency response efforts both in the UK and internationally.

We are based in the United Kingdom and were deployed to Venezuela following the earthquake response. During this deployment, we met Israel Alexander, a 24-year-old Venezuelan volunteer who showed extraordinary commitment and compassion.

Israel travelled for six hours using his own life savings to reach La Guaira, arriving with only the clothes he was wearing and his backpack, determined to offer any help he could. During the response, Israel volunteered alongside the UK ISAR team as a translator, helping us communicate with local communities, authorities, and other search and rescue teams.

His support was invaluable. Israel’s ability to translate and his willingness to assist helped teams work more effectively and ensured important information could be shared during the response.

We are raising funds for Israel as a way of recognising his incredible generosity, courage, and commitment. The funds raised will be used specifically to purchase a camera for Israel, supporting his passion for photography and giving him the opportunity to continue developing this skill.

Our fundraising target is £1,700, which will go towards purchasing a suitable camera and essential photography equipment for him. Any updates on the purchase will be shared to ensure full transparency with everyone who supports this fundraiser.
