Generation Green NY is a youth-led organization dedicated to environmental action through education, service, and advocacy. This year, we’re tackling food insecurity while promoting sustainability.

We’re partnering with Helping Hand Rescue Mission in Huntington, which serves 250+ families in need every week. On Long Island, 221,000 people—including 65,000 children—struggle with hunger, often unable to afford fresh, nutritious food.

From May to October 2025, our team will make monthly visits to organize, purchase, and donate organic, sustainable food to Helping Hand Rescue Mission, ensuring these families receive healthy meals that benefit both people and the planet.

The funds raised will be managed by the founder and president of Generation Green NY, who will personally oversee the purchasing of sustainable food and ensure that all donations go directly toward providing healthy meals to families in need.
