On September 14th, we’re taking on the Richmond Marathon to raise funds for two incredible charities:
Richmond Friends of EAL and North East Solidarity and Teaching (N.E.S.T.).
These are both charities that we have worked with and charities that support those for whom English is a second language.
Richmond Friends of EAL is a charity that offers free English lessons and social activities to people who speak English as an additional language in Richmond. Since 2001, they’ve supported over 1,000 individuals from 66+ different languages and cultures, helping them build confidence, make friends, and feel at home in the community.
Having volunteered with the organisation for the past year, Matilda has seen first-hand how truly important their work is.
We’re also supporting N.E.S.T. (North East Solidarity and Teaching), a Newcastle-based charity that provides free English teaching and educational support to asylum seekers and refugees.
Lilah has been working with N.E.S.T. for the past two years, witnessing the incredible impact it has on displaced individuals, giving them the tools they need to transform their lives through education.
All funds raised will be evenly split between these two charities—both doing vital work to support inclusion and empowerment through language.
As part of our training, we’re also running the Newcastle Half Marathon on May 4th to get ready for the big day!
Every donation—no matter the size—will go directly toward keeping these life-changing services free and accessible.
Please consider donating and sharing our fundraiser. Your support means the world to us—and to the people these charities serve.
Thank you so much!
