Hi, we are Abdelrahman and Nermin, a married couple from Gaza. We were in Gaza when the Genocide started, and our lives took so many painful turns ever since, eventually, we fled to Egypt and made it to the UK where Nermin is now pursuing a PhD on a student visa.

This campaign in intended to help our families who we left behind and have no one else to support. When the war started, I, Abdelrahman, lost most of my family in one moment: my parents, my three siblings, and their daughters were bombed in the home they were displaced in. My only surviving sister remains in northern Gaza with her six children, including a baby born during the war who she named on my father.

Nermins family didn't have it any easier, her family house was bombed few days after we fled to Egypt, but thankfully only her sister was injured and fortunately, no one was killed. Many months later, her brother was bombed in his tent, killing him, injuring and orphaning his 2 daughters and severely injuring his wife who are still under intense medical care.

Our families are suffering deeply. They have little to no income and burned through most of their live savings on basics just to get through each day. With the siege pushing prices through the roof, even the simplest things cost a lot. They need to buy food and clean water, wood to cook on since there’s no gas or electricity, and baby formula and diapers for the little ones. Their tents constantly need repairs—plastic sheets, ropes, anything to help them stay warm and dry. Transportation has become extremely expensive, but sometimes it’s necessary, especially in emergencies. They also need medicine and basic supplies for injuries and chronic health issues. So, they’ve built up a lot of debt just trying to survive.

We want to support them ourselves—but right now, our only income is Nermin’s university stipend, which is less than the minimum wage. This campaign is our way to help them survive until we are able to stand on our own and support them fully.

Every donation will go directly to cover urgent needs for our families, especially for the orphaned girls and my sister’s children. We are deeply grateful for any help you can give.
