Help Us Support My Grandmother’s Healing Journey
Donation protected
I’m reaching out today with a heart full of love and a deep sense of urgency. My grandmother is 72 years old, and she's been my everything—my rock, my protector, my guide. She raised me, cared for me, and poured all her love into me when I was too young to understand the sacrifices she made. Now, it’s my turn to be there for her as she faces some of the hardest challenges of her life.
Recently, she underwent surgery to correct an abnormal heart rhythm, and it has taken a toll on her body. But that's not all—she has been battling COPD for years, which only adds to her struggles. The weight of caring for her has fallen on my shoulders, and while I wouldn’t have it any other way, the financial burden is overwhelming. The medical bills, ambulance costs, doctor visits, and ongoing treatment for her COPD are piling up, and the insurance is simply not covering enough.
In Native American culture, we believe that the bond between grandparents and grandchildren is sacred—a bond that’s unbreakable, sewed into the very heart of who we are. That bond is something so precious, so powerful. My grandmother is not just my family; she is my best friend, my safe place, and the person who knows me better than anyone else. She is my guiding light, and I can’t imagine my life without her in it.
I’m asking for help, because right now, I feel like I’m reaching the end of what I can do on my own. We need to raise $8,000 to cover:
- Hospital bills and medical expenses related to her heart surgery
- Ambulance transportation
- Doctor visits that are essential to her recovery
- Ongoing treatments and medications for her COPD that insurance won’t cover
This doesn’t even begin to cover the emotional and physical toll it takes to care for her day in and day out. I want her to feel safe, loved, and cared for without the constant fear of money being a barrier to her recovery. We are also planning to move in August, and the stress of trying to manage that on top of everything else is taking a huge toll on both of us.
My grandmother has always been the one to take care of me—she sacrificed so much for my well-being, and I owe her everything. She’s never been one to ask for help, and it breaks my heart to see her in a position where she feels like a burden, because she is anything but. I don’t want her to feel ashamed of needing assistance, and I don’t want her to carry this weight alone.
Any donation you can offer, no matter how small, will go directly toward her medical expenses and help lighten the load so that I can focus on being the best caregiver I can be for her. I want her to focus on healing, on resting, on being the vibrant, loving woman that she’s always been, not worrying about bills and treatment.
Please, if you can, help us. Share this page, donate what you can, and know that your support means the world to both of us. We can’t do this alone, and I am beyond grateful for the kindness and generosity of everyone who helps us through this difficult time.
