Hi my name is Becky and some of you may already know that my dad has been diagnosed with Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) — a rare, progressive neurological condition that affects the brain and the body’s automatic functions, including movement, balance, speech, swallowing and blood pressure. Sadly, there is currently no cure, and over time MSA can have a huge impact on a person’s independence and quality of life.
Watching someone you love face this kind of diagnosis is incredibly difficult. We know that Dad’s condition will continue to worsen, so rather than focusing only on what the future may bring, I want to make the most of the time we have and create some really special memories for him and my mam.
We’re hoping to raise £500 for my partner to take part in a skydive, with the money raised going towards supporting MSA.
I would also love to raise additional money to help provide rise-and-recline chairs at Calvert Trust , a very special place to our family. Calvert Trust gives disabled people the opportunity to experience activities, adventures and independence, helping them feel included. It holds a very special place in our hearts, and we would love to give something back.
Finally, I want to raise money to help Mam and Dad enjoy some special trips and experiences together while Dad is still able to, giving them memories that they can treasure forever. ❤️
Every donation, no matter how big or small, would mean more to our family than we could ever put into words. And if you’re unable to donate, simply sharing our fundraiser would help us massively.
We’re not just raising money — we’re trying to give Dad experiences, adventures, comfort and memories that will last a lifetime.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting my Dad, Mam and our family.
