We are the Bagua López family from Ecuador, and we want to share our situation with you. We are going through a very difficult time and need your generous help.

My mother, Amparo López, who suffers from diabetes, has been very ill in recent months, preventing her from working and contributing financially. My father, Gerardo Bagua, a construction worker by profession, has knocked on many doors looking for work, but the economic crisis in Ecuador has made opportunities scarce.

Currently, we need help to pay our rent and cover the cost of the space where their children, who passed away 20 and 13 years ago, rest. We want to prevent their remains from being moved to a common grave.

We are also facing another delicate situation: on January 31, 2025, my 25-year-old brother, Christopher Bagua, was in a traffic accident that caused three fractures in his left leg and a fracture in his elbow. He will not be able to work for a year and will need physical therapy to walk again. Christopher is the head of his household and has a 3-year-old daughter. Unfortunately, the person responsible for the accident fled the scene, and the authorities are searching for them. This situation has further affected our financial stability.

Our family, Bagua López, does not have social security or any government assistance.

These are moments that test the spirit of any family.

Wij zijn de familie Bagua López uit Ecuador en we willen graag onze situatie met jullie delen. We maken een zeer moeilijke tijd door en hebben jullie gulle hulp nodig.

Mijn moeder, Amparo López, die aan diabetes lijdt, is de afgelopen maanden erg ziek geweest, waardoor ze niet kon werken en financieel kon bijdragen. Mijn vader, Gerardo Bagua, die bouwvakker van beroep is, heeft overal werk gezocht, maar de economische crisis in Ecuador heeft de kansen schaars gemaakt.

Op dit moment hebben we hulp nodig om onze huur te betalen en om de kosten te dekken van de rustplaats van hun kinderen, die 20 en 13 jaar geleden zijn overleden. We willen voorkomen dat hun overblijfselen worden verplaatst naar een algemeen graf.

Daarnaast staan we voor een andere moeilijke situatie: op 31 januari 2025 kreeg mijn 25-jarige broer, Christopher Bagua, een verkeersongeval waarbij hij drie breuken in zijn linkerbeen en een breuk in zijn elleboog opliep. Hij zal een jaar lang niet kunnen werken en heeft fysiotherapie nodig om weer te kunnen lopen. Christopher is het hoofd van zijn huishouden en heeft een dochter van 3 jaar. Helaas is de verantwoordelijke voor het ongeluk gevlucht, en de autoriteiten zijn naar hem op zoek. Deze situatie heeft onze financiële stabiliteit nog verder verslechterd.

Onze familie, Bagua López, heeft geen sociale zekerheid of enige vorm van overheidssteun.

Dit zijn momenten die de kracht van elke familie op de proef stellen.

Somos la Familia Bagua López de Ecuador y queremos compartir nuestra situación. Estamos atravesando por un momento muy difícil y necesitamos de su generosa ayuda.

Mi mamá Amparo López, quien padece de diabetes, ha estado muy enferma en los últimos meses, lo que le ha impedido trabajar y contribuir económicamente. Mi papá Gerardo Bagua, quien es albañil de profesión, ha tocado muchas puertas buscando trabajo, pero la crisis económica en Ecuador ha hecho que las oportunidades sean escasas. Actualmente necesitamos ayuda para cubrir el pago de la renta de nuestra vivienda y el pago del espacio donde descansan sus hijos, que fallecieron hace 20 y 13 años, para evitar que sus restos sean trasladados a una fosa común.

También enfrentamos otra situación delicada: el 31 de enero del 2025, Mi hermano Christopher Bagua de 25 años, sufrió un accidente de tránsito que le causó 3 fracturas en su pierna izquierda y una fractura en su codo, no podrá trabajar durante un año y necesitará fisioterapia para volver a caminar. Christopher es jefe de hogar y tiene una hija de 3 años. Lamentablemente el responsable del accidente se dio a la fuga y las autoridades lo están buscando. Esta situación ha afectado aún más la estabilidad económica.

Mi familia Bagua López no cuenta con un seguro social o algún tipo de ayuda del gobierno.

Son momentos que ponen a prueba el espíritu de cualquier familia.
