Help Us Stay in Our Beloved Seniors Community
We currently rent a condo in a seniors community. We have been there for fives years now. In June our landlord surprised us with the news that he intends to sell the place by the end in November; this was a total surprise to us, totally unexpected. We like the the residence and the complex, and would like to remain there, as it very safe and quiet. We immediately sprung into action and began weighing our options - Where will we go, what can we afford in this very expensive Real Estate market. We started our search for rental property in the surrounding communities and towns. Our efforts so far has proven to to be quite difficult; price are outrageously high, and the requirements (down'payments, fees, deposits etc) are complicated, very expensive, and the rules change from place to place. The lost of my job in 2018 - after twenty'two years of service, which we have not recovered from, and most recently, two medical occurrences which force d us to deplete all our saving, it has become clear to us that our to afford the high cost of renting another apartment, or purchasing the one we currently resides in is virtually unattainable - (a one bedroom costs an average $1,800.00, and a two bedroom averages approximately $2,500.00). We just cannot afford these prices; So we are seeking help from donors to assist us in purchasing the unit that we currently reside in; Hence, keeping us in the apartment and Seniors Community, and friends that we love.
We thank you in advance for your consideration, generous support, and understanding.
