Help Us Stay Close To The Preemie Twins
Donation protected
James and I were shocked and a little terrified when we found out we were having twins but it's been such an unexpected blessing.
On February 28th around 6 p.m. I started experiencing contractions, I arrived at the hospital at 7:30 p.m. when I realized that they were only progressing. Everything happened so fast from there, despite the hospitals best efforts to slow everything down.. I was fully dilated, contracting every minute by 9:30 p.m. My water never broke. I was unable to recieve an epidural so I was put under and a C-Section was performed to deliver both of our baby boys prematurely at 25 weeks, they are both about a pound and a half.
Unfortunately Culpeper Hospital is unequipped to support babies that premature so my boys have been transferred to UVA in Charlottesville where they will likely remain until June. I want so desperately to be with my boys, I was able to see Theodore briefly and was informed that he'd need to be resuscitated at birth. They brought Finneas in to see me as well before they left but he was so bundled up I couldn't see him from my bed.
It is my deepst desire to go stay near the boys for a few days after my release from the hospital and any assistance would be greatly appreciated. All funds will go towards travel, hotel and Sebastian's care while I'm away and recovering.
Welcome to the world, Finneas Anderson Van Cleave and Theodore James Van Cleave.
