Hi, my name is Ruby and I’m the proud mom of Josiah, our beautiful, strong, 1-month-old son.

Josiah has been diagnosed with Severe Combined Immunodeficiency (SCID)—In August, Josiah will be admitted to the hospital to begin chemotherapy as part of his treatment plan. This is a critical step to prepare his body for a bone marrow transplant that could save his life. He’ll need to stay in the hospital for several months, and during that time I won’t be able to work at all.

Because of how fragile his immune system is, Josiah cannot be around other people at all not even daycare, family, or friends. His life depends on being in a sterile and closely monitored environment for the next year or more.

Due to this, I’ve had to stop working completely to be his full-time caregiver. I’m the only person who can be with him every day to protect his health,

I am asking for support during this incredibly difficult time to help cover rent, basic needs, and the costs that come with long hospital stays. Every donation no matter the size helps me stay focused on Josiah’s healing without the added stress of financial survival.
