Help us start our autism mentorship nonprofit!

Help us raise enough money to be able to start our nonprofit with the goal of providing mentoring to many people on the autism spectrum as possible here in San Diego!

At Mentoring Autistic Minds, we want to be able to make sure everyone on the autism spectrum can feel comfortable about being themselves and transparent about their feelings. The idea of our nonprofit was first conceived in July of 2019 after our founder, David Rivera, graduated from high school and wanted to contribute to his community.  Growing up on the autism spectrum, Mr. Rivera spent a lot of his time receiving services from his community and he would like to give back. As a result of the services he received from other nonprofits, he has become ambitious and is working hard to try to enter Stanford University.

Unfortunately, raise money to apply for 501c3 status is expensive, especially during a pandemic.  With help from people like you, we can raise the money to be able to start this so we can contribute to our community. Anything helps!

Academic research has shown that peer-mentoring in high school and college for individuals on the spectrum can increase self-reported academic and social performance. Our approach is evidence-based and ongoing research supports it.

Many families and individuals on the spectrum have struggled to get the services they desperately need because of schools being closed or state offices/services not being operational. Even during this pandemic, we would be more than happy to provide services either online or in person with accommodations. The sooner we reach our goal the faster we can try to make amends for the time lost.
