Hi, I’m Tiff and I’m sharing our story with honesty and hope.

After both going through painful and unhealthy past relationships, my partner and I finally found each other. Being together has been healing — we’ve built a loving, supportive relationship, and now we’re dreaming of starting a family. But we’re facing a heartbreaking challenge: we can’t conceive naturally, and time is against us.

We’ve already spent £520 on early testing, and I’ve been told I have around three years left to try for a baby naturally. That news has been incredibly difficult to hear, and it’s added a huge sense of urgency.

My partner has no sperm present in his sample. He went through chemotherapy and suffered an injury to his genital area when he was younger — both of which could have affected his fertility. We’ve managed to save enough for a male hormone blood test, but we’re struggling to get full genetic testing through the NHS. This is the next vital step to find out if we have any chance of using his sperm at all.

If there’s no sperm, we’ll need to consider a sperm donor.

If there is sperm inside, it will need to be surgically extracted and used in treatment.

The estimated cost of these next steps is around £3,500, and despite working four days a week each, we simply can’t save that amount quickly enough. I’ve even been selling my personal items on Vinted just to try and raise extra money, but it feels like an impossible mountain to climb on our own.

This journey has been painful, but we’re not giving up. I studied childcare in college and worked with children — becoming a mam has always been a dream. To have finally found the right person to build a life with, and now face the reality that we might not be able to have a child together, is heartbreaking.
