I’m reaching out during a big, messy, beautiful transition—one that’s full of boxes, dust, emotions, and the deep call of family.

I’ve just traveled from Texas to Maryland to help my mother sort through and pack up decades of memories, belongings, and layers of life so that she can begin again—with us, in the DC area. This move is about more than just logistics; it’s about care. It’s about bringing family back together, healing the lineage, and planting new seeds for a shared, stable, inspired life.

My mother is a brilliant genealogy specialist—someone who has spent her life piecing together the threads of family stories for others. Now, it’s time for her own next chapter. Together, we’re creating a home where her wisdom, my growing 12-year-old, and my work in healing and spiritual service can all root and rise.

But to get there, I’ve had to step away from work for over a week—work that supports both my child and my small but growing business. The moving van alone cost $1,300, and that’s before gas, food, or the surge in utilities that comes with integrating households in a high-cost-of-living area like DC.

I’m asking for support—not just to cover the hard costs of this move, but to honor the emotional labor and care work it takes to help a parent transition and to say yes to building something new, together.
