WARNING: GRAPHIC PICTURES BELOW! After thirty years of marriage, my husband Dan and I have never owned a home of our own. Our journey has been filled with challenges, especially after Dan was medically separated from the Army due to injuries sustained in Iraq. He is a 100% disabled veteran, living with the effects of traumatic brain injury, PTSD, a surgery down below that caused permanent impotence, (its been 9 years), and severe diabetes that has led to multiple surgeries and the loss of most of his toes and part of his foot. I have also been diagnosed with Cushing's disease, which leaves me debilitated for long periods. Despite these hardships, we have always dreamed of a place to call our own.

Recently, we found our dream home, a doublewide manufactured home on two acres, with enough space for us and our beloved wolfadoodle, Merlin, and were overjoyed to be told we could have it. But just as we were about to move forward, an unexpected expense forced us to use credit (Dan's van broke), which dropped our score below the required range. Now, we are at risk of losing the home that would mean so much to us. This house is not extravagant, but it is wheelchair accessible and would provide the safety and comfort Dan needs as his health declines. It would also fulfill my promise to Merlin, giving him a yard where he can run freely and experience life without a leash.

We have spent years working to fix our credit and searching for a place to heal and find peace. The setbacks have been crushing, but we are reaching out for help because this home represents hope, healing, and the chance to spend our remaining years together in a place that truly feels like ours. We are asking for support to overcome this final hurdle and make our last wish come true—a home for our family, where we can live with dignity and love.
