My cousin and I are currently homeless with our three children, ages 8, 6, and our youngest who will turn 2 at the end of June. We were wrongfully removed from our home due to domestic violence, and since then, it’s been a daily struggle to keep our family safe and together. Right now, we’re staying in a hotel thanks to the generosity of my aunt, who lives out of state and was able to help us for a couple of nights.

Recently, a friend of a close friend connected us with a private landlord who is willing to give us a chance at a new start. This is a rare opportunity, as most places are far out of reach for us financially. We need help to secure this home so we can finally have a safe and stable place for the kids. My main focus is getting the children settled and back into a routine. I usually work for DoorDash, but just simply not enough.
