Four years ago, me and my daughter were reunited my daughter and I were separated. She was just three years old, and I struggling deeply with addiction, often finding myself talking to myself on street corners. Those were the hardest days of my life, and it took everything I had to begin the journey back. Today, I am two and a half years clean. I work as an outreach specialist in the homeless and addiction community, helping other families and individuals get the support they need.
Reuniting with my daughter has been the greatest gift, but we are facing new challenges. We are currently struggling with other immediate family members, and I want to provide a safe, stable place for my daughter to stay. I am working hard to take the next step in my life and secure our own apartment, where she can feel comfortable and protected.
My story has been filled with ups and downs, from battling schizophrenia and drug use to now being a responsible, active member of society. I am proud of how far I’ve come, but I need a little help to give my daughter the home she deserves. Thank you for reading our story and for any support you can offer as we continue our journey of recovery and hope.
