HELP US SAVE OUR MOM AND HOUSE

Hey y'all, my name is Lourdes. I would like to take a moment to thank you for reading my story and letting me share my experience with you. My little sister and I are wanting to surprise our mom by raising money to save our house.

My mother has battled cancer for 9 years. Over the years, she has battled with pancreatic, thyroid 2x and melanoma cancer. During her last round of cancer, she worked, as a registered nurse, until she physically couldn't anymore. She, then, was put on bedrest until she is fully healed and able to go back to work, in early July. The medical bills, plus not being able to work, has cut income down to zero. We are very grateful for our mom and everything she has done for us. While having cancer, she has been there for every single: football game, band concert, college tour, and anything personal for Charis and me. My mother was in pain but still managed to be there for everything for us. My mother has saved so many lives and has helped so many people, and now it is our turn to help and save her. Cancer takes away a lot of things. I watched cancer take away a lot of things from my mother that a lot of people don't talk about. I watched her: lose her hair, not be able to eat, lose her breath as she walked, lose her social ability, and experienced almost losing her job. Now, because of cancer, she's now losing her house that she has worked so hard to provide for my sister and me.

After these last few months, I have done everything for my mother like she has for my sister and me. I have taken my sister to and from school and practice every day, helping my grandparents out, going to school (college) and even getting prepared to move colleges, caring for all of our animals, etc. Although it has been a rough few months, I have had the blessing to learn more about her cancer, surgeries and how to properly care and treat someone with such pain.

As I am preparing to transfer colleges, and move about 5 hours away, I am scared to leave my mother. I am making this GoFundMe to help put this money towards the house and things we will need to survive.
