Dear friends near and far,
We’re reaching out with open hearts to ask for your help during a very urgent and vulnerable moment. We need to raise 75,000 CHF before June 30th to repay a family loan and keep our home.
Our house has been a blessing — a gift we received after my mother passed away unexpectedly young. We poured everything we had into this home to give our family safety, stability, and a place to grow. However, we now face a make-or-break situation.
Over the past 13 years, we’ve done everything we could to secure our place here. Claire worked hard to finish her studies, we raised a lockdown baby, and we’ve tried all available options — refinancing, family support, and the bank. However, due to timing, income, and delays, nothing has materialized. The bank said that without a second income, they can’t offer a second mortgage. And now, the private family loan we received must be repaid by the end of June.
If we cannot meet this deadline, we will face a formal debt collection process in Switzerland called a Betreibung. This is a serious legal procedure that can lead to court action, damage to our credit record, additional fees added to the debt, and even the forced sale of assets, including our home. We are doing everything we can to avoid this outcome, both for legal and emotional reasons.
This urgency arose because a promise from my aunt — who had initially agreed to help — fell through after many months of waiting. In the end, her husband unexpectedly said no at the very last moment, leaving us with no time to arrange alternatives.
We’ve always lived with the mindset that our home and lives are meant to serve others. Through our NGO, we’ve spent years building bridges and supporting people, helping set up schools, orphanages, and international volunteer experiences that have changed lives. Many who had no chance were given one because of this work.
A Life of Miracles and Faith
We’ve always tried to live generously — giving our time, our home, and our hearts to others. And honestly, we’ve only been able to live this way because we've seen again and again how God provides — often in ways we could never plan for.
At the beginning of this year, a friend we’re not even in regular contact with reached out. They told us they had a dream that we would need CHF 20,000. At the time, we thought: “Interesting…” but didn’t think much more — after all, we were still counting on help from family.
But now, months later, we realize: God saw the need long before we did. That same friend ended up helping us exactly with CHF 20,000 — just in time.
This reminded us of the truth in Matthew 6:8:
“Your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.”
It’s just one more example of how we’ve made it this far — through prayer, unexpected provision, and people who listened to a quiet nudge and said yes.
Now we’re holding on to that same faith again — that with your help, and by God’s grace, we’ll get through this too.
The good news is that some people have already stepped in. A few generous friends and family have already pledged or given — from 100 CHF to 5,000 CHF — and we’re incredibly grateful. But we still need your help to reach the full amount in time.
We’ve opened our doors to many friends, travellers, and those in need of refuge. If you’ve stayed with us, you know that we’ve always shared whatever we had — even our best and last — with joy.
Now, we humbly ask: Can you help us save our home?
Our journey so far has only been possible through prayer and miracles, and we trust that God can provide another one now.
If you can give — no matter the size — it truly adds up. We are asking all who feel connected to us to stand with us now. Together, we believe this is possible.
We’re reaching out because, somewhere along the way, you’ve become part of our journey — a friend we value. We’re grateful to be able to ask for your help, and we want you to know: our friendship and support are always here for you, too. If you ever need us, we’ll be there — with open hands, open hearts, and a place at our table.
With love and gratitude,
Silas, Claire, Shawn, Alan, and Eveline
