Hi, my name is Lindsey and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart.

My brother and I are fighting to save our childhood home — the home our parents built their life in — after unexpectedly losing both of them. Our mom passed away five years ago, and just a few months ago, our dad passed away suddenly with no will or financial plan in place.

Now we’re facing foreclosure unless we can pay off the remaining $4,000 balance. Our dad had fallen behind on bills and upkeep, and we’ve been doing everything we can to take on those responsibilities — while also trying to cover his funeral expenses, pay utilities, and take care of urgent home repairs.

We’ve truly done everything we can to avoid asking for help, but we’re out of options. I’m currently unemployed because I don’t have reliable childcare for my two young boys, and my brother works full time — but it’s just not enough.

The house also needs repairs to the roof and some of the walls, and the longer we wait, the worse it gets.

Losing our parents has already been devastating. But the thought of also losing the home they worked their whole lives for — where every memory of our family lives — is crushing. We just want to keep their legacy alive and be able to pass this on to our children.
