Help us Save Our Community Hub for our Children&Families

Hi, we are Sam and Courtney, founders and directors of Donate 1 Create 1 CIC; a community-led, youth and family organisation based in Erdington, Birmingham.

For the past three years, we’ve poured our hearts into building a community hub that served children, young people, and families from our local community. We have created a place that felt like home for so many; a space filled with life, learning, laughter, and love in tough times.

But now, through no fault of our own, we’ve lost it all...

After over a year of operating our site full-time and fundraising to building a new football pitch, netball court, community cafe and arts centre; Birmingham City Council allowed the former leaseholder to return and without warning, unlawfully evict us from our hub.

Despite having council support, ministerial recognition, and a thriving programme of activities running day in and day out, our entire operation was shut down overnight.

This means young people and families have lost access to:

❌ After-school sports and creative clubs

❌ Homework support and safe spaces to learn

❌ A community café serving affordable, nutritious meals

❌ Trusted holiday clubs parents relied on

❌ Weekend access to inclusive sport and arts

❌ A place to gather, grow, and feel safe

This wasn’t just a building, it was a lifeline and a place where children felt seen. Where parents could breathe. Where futures were being shaped.

This eviction hasn’t just affected our community it’s destroyed our business.

We have now lost all of our finances and reserves, lost our incredible staff, who we could no longer pay and lost access to the very space we built for the future of our community.

It has been heartbreaking. But we are not giving up. We’re fighting back and we need your support!

Why We’re Fundraising?

We are now taking legal action to challenge this unlawful eviction and reclaim our hub. This GoFundMe is to help us cover urgent legal fees, so we can file a court order to regain entry to our hub and begin to rebuild.
