We never thought we’d have to write this.
But we need your help.
Our much-loved counselling centre in Waterloo has suffered over £30,000 worth of damage. It’s more than we can carry alone — and now we’re fighting to save the space that has supported so many.
This centre isn’t just bricks and mortar.
It’s a safe place.
A lifeline.
A space where people have slowly rebuilt their lives.
But right now, our centre is in crisis.
What happened?
During the recent storms, our roof fell apart.
Once the roof gave way, the entire upstairs of our building was left exposed to the elements. Rain and wind poured through, soaking walls, floors, and everything in between.
The result?
Extensive water damage throughout the building
Structural issues that now need urgent attention
So much of the upstairs now needs rebuilding from scratch
And every rainy or windy day since just makes things worse. The damage continues to spread.
This is far bigger than we can fix alone.
What are we raising money for?
Rebuild the roof and make the building safe
Repair internal structural and water damage
Replace essential furnishings and counselling equipment
Ensure we can continue providing free and low-cost counselling to those in need
Rebuild so we can return stronger — and hopefully bring back the Shine Bright Awards in 2026
Why this matters:
We’ve had to make the heartbreaking decision to cancel the Shine Bright Awards 2025, an event that was all about honouring strength and hope in our community.
But more than anything, we’re fighting to save the centre itself — so we can keep showing up for the people who need us most.
How you can help:
Donate — Any amount, big or small, truly helps
Share — Help us reach people who believe in community support
Fundraise for us — Set up a birthday fundraiser or challenge in our name
Support us on social media — Likes, shares and comments help the algorithm push our story further
We’ve always been here for the community.
Now, we’re asking — humbly and with full hearts — for the community to be here for us.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for standing with us.
We won’t give up — and with your help, we won’t have to.
With love,
