<div>We never thought we’d have to write this.
</div>
<div>But we need your help.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Our much-loved counselling centre in Waterloo has suffered over £30,000 worth of damage. It’s more than we can carry alone — and now we’re fighting to save the space that has supported so many.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This centre isn’t just bricks and mortar.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>It’s a safe place.
</div>
<div>A lifeline.
</div>
<div>A space where people have slowly rebuilt their lives.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>But right now, our centre is in crisis.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>What happened?</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>During the recent storms, our roof fell apart.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Once the roof gave way, the entire upstairs of our building was left exposed to the elements. Rain and wind poured through, soaking walls, floors, and everything in between.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>The result?</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Extensive water damage throughout the building
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Structural issues that now need urgent attention
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>So much of the upstairs now needs rebuilding from scratch
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>And every rainy or windy day since just makes things worse. The damage continues to spread.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><span style="font-family:inherit;font-size:1rem;color:inherit;">This is far bigger than we can fix alone.</span>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>What are we raising money for?</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Rebuild the roof and make the building safe
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Repair internal structural and water damage
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Replace essential furnishings and counselling equipment
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Ensure we can continue providing free and low-cost counselling to those in need
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Rebuild so we can return stronger — and hopefully bring back the Shine Bright Awards in 2026
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Why this matters:</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We’ve had to make the heartbreaking decision to cancel the Shine Bright Awards 2025, an event that was all about honouring strength and hope in our community.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>But more than anything, we’re fighting to save the centre itself — so we can keep showing up for the people who need us most.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>How you can help:</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div> Donate — Any amount, big or small, truly helps
</div>
<div> Share — Help us reach people who believe in community support
</div>
<div> Fundraise for us — Set up a birthday fundraiser or challenge in our name
</div>
<div> Support us on social media — Likes, shares and comments help the algorithm push our story further
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We’ve always been here for the community.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Now, we’re asking — humbly and with full hearts — for the community to be here for us.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you for reading, for caring, and for standing with us.
</div>
<div>We won’t give up — and with your help, we won’t have to.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>With love,
</div>
