My sisters and I are trying to help our mom keep her house in El Paso, TX. Her pride has kept her from asking for help until now. She has until September 23rd to pay $20k. If she fails to due so, her home will go up for auction.

Her divorce 2 years ago really hurt her financially and hasn't seemed to be able to recover since. She also has had more and more health issues come up over the recent years that have made it difficult to keep steady employment. She is currently working and is getting some disability assistance but it is not enough to catch up and also make ends meet. Her mortgage payment has kept rising. Since her property taxes are not tied into her mortgage payment, her higher than normal tax bill really was another huge blow.

She has been silently struggling all the while battling with her own health and raising two of her grandkids. She took custody of Jonathan (11) and Cerenity (10) when they were only babies. My brother was unable to care for them and their mother had passed away. She does not receive any financial help for having them but she took them in without a second thought.

We just don't want to see our mom lose her home of 20 years. With her bad credit and the state of the economy, it would be so hard to start over right now. We just hope that we can get enough before the deadline so she doesn't have to start over. Any extra over the $20k will be to help her have a safety net moving forward. If we don't raise enough to keep her home, the money will be used for a new start.
