Help Us Ride from Cannes to Pisa for Children’s Futures

We are cycling from Cannes, France to Pisa, Italy to raise £10,000 in support of the James Barney Foundation - a charity created in loving memory of our son, James, who tragically lost his life in a car accident at just 16 years old.

Through the foundation, we are dedicated to helping children and young people pursue life-changing opportunities something James believed in deeply.

This year, the funds raised will go directly to an inspiring group of young dancers, aged 9 to 11, from a Welsh local primary school, Ysgol Betws Gwerful Goch. These talented children have been invited to travel to Patagonia to represent Wales and showcase the rich folk dancing and singing traditions on an international stage.

This is more than a performance, it’s a cultural exchange. A chance for these young people to share their Welsh heritage, learn from others, and build lifelong friendships rooted in mutual respect and tradition. For many of them, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience they could not afford without your help.

Every donation, no matter the size, brings us closer to giving these children the opportunity to carry their culture proudly across the world and to do so in James’s name, continuing the legacy of his joy, generosity, and promise that he left behind.
