Help Us Revitalize a Pregnant Mother and Parenting Shelter

The Kindness Circle was formed by a group of women making a difference through small and meaningful acts of kindness. We are excited to be partnering with LaCasa Norte to facilitate a much-needed renovation of their Pregnant and Parenting Shelter on Chicago's North Side. This shelter provides a safe haven where young mothers and pregnant women can find calm when their lives are endangered, or they have no place to rest their heads at night.

We will be transforming several common areas, a kitchen, 5 bedrooms, a full bathroom, a child play area, and organizing storage rooms with donated items for both mother and child. Our hope is to raise the necessary funds for painting all areas of the shelter, several much-needed larger items including storage pieces for client files and personal property, office furniture, lamps, rugs, artwork, children's play space furniture and bookshelves, and kitchen and laundry room appliances and storage. Gently used, donated items will be at the top of our list when size and functionality is available, and we hope to source many things through Marketplace and word of mouth.
