Help Us Reunite with Our 12 Nieces and Nephews in Ethiopia
Donation protected
Dear family and friends,
Our 12 adopted nieces and nephews living in an orphanage in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia are very eager for us to visit them, and so are we. We want to shower them with love, share special moments together, and give them the experience of a close-knit extended family.
Our relationship means so much to these kids because it gives them hope and confidence that there are people in the world who are looking out for them, who believe in them, and who want them to succeed in life.
We originally met these wonderful children in 2022, when we were given the opportunity to visit them through a series of divine synchronicities. As soon as we entered their home, we felt the loving, nurturing atmosphere which was so unlike the cold, dismal orphanage we were expecting to see. We truly felt that we were part of a large, happy family. A dedicated, energetic woman called Engudai is like a loving mother figure for all 12 children, and she is supported by a very hard-working team of local women and professionals.
Even though their means were humble, Engudai and the children showered us with kindness and hospitality during our first visit. They proudly showed us around their beautiful city and shared their rich, vibrant culture with us. At the end of our stay, the children affectionately asked us to be their aunt and uncle, and to keep in touch with them. We felt grateful and honored to be part of their extended family!
Since that heartfelt encounter, we've kept in close contact with Engudai and the children through ongoing video calls, and we’ve gone back to visit them every year without fail. We promised to visit them this year too, but we do not have the financial means to cover the cost of our trip as we did the past few years. So, we created this GoFundMe to humbly ask for help in making this dream come true for our dear nieces and nephews.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Funding Breakdown:
Our estimated trip cost is $5,000, covering two plane tickets, accommodations, and special experiences for the children.
- $1,500 – Ethiopian Airlines round-trip economy ticket for Becca
- $1,500 – Ethiopian Airlines round-trip economy ticket for Leo
- $600 – 10-night stay at a hotel within walking distance of the orphanage
- $400 – Travel expenses, international phone service, food etc.
- $1,000 – Special outings and gifts for the children and orphanage staff, including English teaching materials requested by Engudai so that the children can learn to speak English more fluently
Our Plan:
- Visit the orphanage for 10 days in April, 2025.
- Spend quality family time with Engudai and our 12 nieces and nephews, creating special memories with them.
- Take the children on special outings to experience the local culture and beauty together.
- Give each child and caregiver a special gift, as a symbol of our love and appreciation for them.
Our long-term plan:
As their adopted aunt and uncle, we’re committed to helping our 12 amazing nieces and nephews have a more abundant, bright, hopeful future. And we do have a long-term plan to achieve this, as we'll soon be launching our spiritual fashion brand Trnsndntl☆Truth™ (www.tt.life) in which 50% of net profits will be devoted to helping our nieces and nephews (and eventually other souls around the world). But until our business is up and running, we do not want to miss even one of our yearly visits to our Ethiopian relatives.
So, we created this GoFundMe to humbly ask for your help.
We’d be deeply grateful for your support:
If our story touched your heart, we’d be deeply grateful for any support you can give. Every donation—no matter the size—brings us one step closer to reuniting with our beloved nieces and nephews, giving them love, laughter, and special memories to cherish. Sharing our story with your family and friends is another great way to help us spread the word and reach our goal. And whether or not you're able to contribute, your well-wishes/prayers mean the world to us. Thank you so much!
With gratitude,
Becca and Leo
P.S. If we exceed our campaign goal, all extra funds will go directly to our Universal Well-Being Foundation (uwbf.org) through which we will continue to help our nieces and nephews and other souls around the world.
