For almost three years, we’ve been foster parents to two kids from a group of four siblings. They’re a big part of our family now.
The hard part is that their two siblings are in another home. All four kids care about each other and want to be together, but our house just doesn’t have the space yet. With our upstairs being an unfinished and unused empty space, we figure we can make this work.
We’re raising money to remodel our home so we can bring all four siblings under one roof.
Our Current Setup
Right now, our house has:
- One master bedroom
- One bedroom that the two kids share
- One bathroom for everyone
- Our upstairs is a large unfinished, and unused space
That works for four people, but not for six, especially as the kids get older.
What We Want to Build
We’d like to:
- Add two bedrooms upstairs
- Add another bathroom upstairs, so six people are not sharing just one
To save costs, we’ll be doing the construction work ourselves as we've always done with our home projects. What we need help with is funding the materials and required supplies to make this happen.
How Donations Will Be Used
Money raised will go toward:
- Lumber, drywall, insulation, and other materials for the new upstairs bedrooms
- Plumbing, fixtures, and ventilation for the new upstairs bathroom
- Electrical, heating/cooling, and safety-related materials
- Fees for any permits and inspections we need
If there’s anything left over after the main work, it will help pay for:
- Beds and mattresses
- Dressers and basic furniture
- Simple room setup so the kids feel comfortable in their new space
We’ll share updates and photos as we go so you can see what you helped build.

This remodel isn’t about having a nicer house. It’s about:
- Letting four siblings live together instead of growing up in separate homes
- Giving them more stability and a sense of belonging
- Making everyday life (mornings, bedtime, school days, holidays) happen all in the same place
