The circa 1917 cabin is a very special part of Manchester's History, which you can read about here . Additionally, it is extremely rare because it was built out of chestnut logs. The cabin was purchased by the town in 2006, and has fallen into disrepair. In 2020, it was facing the wrecking ball, until preservation activists stepped in and intervened.

Case Mountain Cabin, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is joining hands with the Town of Manchester, CT to oversee the restoration and enhancement of the historic cabin and surrounding property.

We are campaigning to raise seed money while we apply for grants and other funding. This funding will be used to cover the cost of immediate repair projects desperately needed to stabilize the building while we plan the further restoration.
