On Friday, March 13, a sudden surge from arcing power lines sent a jolt through our house, destroying our electrical panel. My mom and I heard a loud pop from the laundry room, and when we rushed in, we smelled something burning. Within seconds, smoke started pouring from the electrical panel. Fearing the worst, we called the fire department right away, terrified that our home might catch fire. The drywall was damaged, and after several assessments, we learned that our electrical panel and a few outlets need to be completely replaced. The wires were absolutely fried, leaving us devastated by the extent of the damage. For nearly a week now, my mom, our cat, and I have been living in the cold and dark, unsure of what to do next.

The funds raised here will help us restore power to our home and make it safe and warm again. We want nothing more than to repair the damage and return to some sense of normalcy. Every dollar will go directly toward the repairs we need to get back on our feet.
