My name is Dan, and I’m a husband, father, teacher, and coach. My wife is a children’s librarian, and together we’ve dedicated our lives to serving children and our community. We recently discovered severe water damage and mold in our home’s crawlspace—damage that was missed by our home inspector. Despite pursuing legal action, the settlement we received covers only a fraction of the repair costs, leaving us in a difficult situation.

Our home is currently uninhabitable due to excessive airborne mold spores. My wife, our two children, and I have had to move into a property owned by a family member, which has caused them to lose out on potential income. The repairs needed are extensive: we must replace all failed cast iron plumbing, sub-floors, and joists in two bathrooms, a bedroom, two closets, and the hallway. Mold remediation is also required in the crawlspace, under the kitchen sink, and in the bathroom walls. We have not been able to start any repairs yet, as we are waiting to secure enough funds to begin.
