Why We Started United Hands

In the Greater Toronto Area, more families, newcomers, and individuals are struggling to make ends meet as the cost of living continues to rise. Food banks, once a safety net, are now overwhelmed — with shelves emptying faster than they can be restocked. We saw the gap, and we couldn’t sit back.

That’s why we started United Hands — a youth-led initiative to tackle food insecurity head-on. We believe young people have the power to lead real change, and our goal is simple: make sure no one in our community goes hungry.

With your support, we’ll be able to:

Purchase and deliver essential food supplies to food banks and directly to families in need
Prepare and cook fresh meals through our volunteer-led delivery efforts
Partner with struggling local restaurants to buy meals — supporting small businesses while feeding those who need it most, maximizing our impact by also supporting struggling local businesses.
