Help Us Make Our Home Safe Before Our Baby Arrives

I never thought I’d be writing something like this, but here I am...asking for help because I’m scared, overwhelmed, and running out of options.

Our home’s electrical panel is dangerously out of date and needs to be fully replaced. We’ve already been warned about the risks, and every day I live with the fear of what could happen if we don’t fix it in time. Electrical fires don’t give warnings. One spark, one overload and everything changes.

To make matters worse, we currently have no power in our main bathroom, which has turned daily life into a stressful juggling act. Simple things showering, getting ready for work, basic self-care have become constant reminders that something is wrong and unsafe.

What makes this even harder to carry is that I’m pregnant, and we have a baby on the way. As a parent, your instinct is to protect to make sure your child is coming into a safe, stable home. Right now, I feel like I’m failing at that, even though I’m doing everything I can.

I work full-time, I budget, I stretch every dollar—but the cost of replacing an electrical panel is more than we can manage on our own. Between rising living expenses, medical costs, and preparing for a baby, there is simply no room left for a major emergency repair like this.

Asking for help is not easy. It’s humbling. It’s vulnerable. But this isn’t about upgrades or comfort, it’s about safety. It’s about preventing a disaster before it happens. It’s about being able to bring our baby home without fear every time we flip a switch or turn on a light.
