Earlier this year we moved to a small village in Calabria. The community here has welcomed us with open arms, and life Is good

But as you know, Calabria is not a wealthy region, and the area we live in does not have many activities at all, much less any activities for nerds, geeks, and gamers

Before we moved to Calabria, we used to have a games and hobby store and workshop where people could learn and participate in a wide variety of nerdy hobbies, from wargaming and miniature painting to role playing games like Dungeons & Dragons, card games like Magic the Gathering, and board games for all ages

Now that we’re settled in down here, we’ve found the perfect storefront right in our village here in Calabria, and we already own all of the fixtures and furniture and inventory that we need to open the only nerdy hobby store within an hour’s drive

And here is our problem

When we first came down to Calabria, we were staying in a small temporary rental while we searched for a place to live. Without anywhere to put the store, we shipped everything to a warehouse in Piemonte

Now that we’re here in Calabria, we need to actually transport everything the entire length of Italy from Piemonte to Calabria (more than 1200km or 700 miles). Fortunately, we’ve already found a crew with a truck big enough to transport everything

Unfortunately, our store has been closed for two years and our savings have gone to paying the storage fees all that time, so we no longer have the funds in hand to pay for the transportation costs

And that’s why we started this GoFundMe and why we are asking you to help us to raise the funds we need to bring a little beacon of nerdiness to our new Calabrian home

Siamo una famiglia americana che ora vive in Italia ed abbiamo bisogno del tuo aiuto

All'inizio di quest'anno ci siamo trasferiti in un piccolo paese in Calabria. La comunità locale ci ha accolto a braccia aperte e la vita qui è bella

Ma come sai, la Calabria non è una regione ricca e la zona in cui viviamo non offre molte attività, tanto meno attività per nerd, geek e giocatori

Prima di trasferirci in Calabria, avevamo un negozio di giochi e hobby e un laboratorio dove le persone potevano imparare e partecipare a una vasta gamma di hobby nerd, dai wargame e la pittura di miniature ai giochi di ruolo come Dungeons & Dragons, ai giochi di carte come Magic the Gathering e ai giochi da tavolo per tutte le età

Ora che ci siamo stabiliti qui, abbiamo trovato il negozio perfetto proprio nel nostro villaggio in Calabria e possediamo già tutti gli arredi, i mobili e le scorte necessarie per aprire l'unico negozio di hobby nerd nel raggio di un'ora di macchina.

Ed ecco il nostro problema

Quando siamo arrivati in Calabria, abbiamo alloggiato in un piccolo appartamento in affitto temporaneo mentre cercavamo un posto dove vivere. Non avendo un posto dove mettere il negozio, abbiamo spedito tutto in un magazzino in Piemonte

Ora che siamo qui in Calabria, dobbiamo trasportare tutto attraverso l'Italia, dal Piemonte alla Calabria. Fortunatamente, abbiamo già trovato un team con un camion abbastanza grande da trasportare tutto.

Purtroppo, il nostro negozio è chiuso da due anni e i nostri risparmi sono stati utilizzati per pagare le spese di magazzinaggio durante tutto questo tempo, quindi non abbiamo più i fondi necessari per pagare le spese di trasporto

Ed è per questo che abbiamo avviato questa raccolta fondi qui su GoFundMe e ti chiediamo di aiutarci a raccogliere i fondi necessari per portare un piccolo faro di nerdismo nella nostra nuova casa calabrese.
